Full billiard table re-clothing in CPBA MG-700 competition-grade cloth. AED 1,700 plus travel, at your location in Dubai and across the UAE. The middle tier, and the one we fit most often. MG-700 is a worsted cloth — the nap is sheared off rather than left raised — which is what makes the difference you feel: the cue ball holds its line off the cushion instead of drifting, and side spin does what you asked it to. If someone in the house has started caring where the white ends up, this is the tier that stops the table arguing with them. WHO THIS TIER IS FOR • A home table that gets used most weeks rather than most months • Players who have taken a lesson, joined a league, or started practising alone • Light club, café and office use where the table earns its keep but is not hammered daily • Anyone stepping up from a basic cloth who wants the jump to be obvious WHAT THE PRICE INCLUDES Disassembly, the full re-cloth of cushions and play area in the colour of your choice, reassembly, and levelling. MOVING THE TABLE AT THE SAME TIME If you are moving house, the re-cloth also covers moving the table to the new address — within a 40 km radius. Past 40 km, travel is charged on top. A re-cloth in Fujairah is AED 1,700 plus AED 300 travel. Moving a table from Fujairah to Ras Al Khaimah is AED 1,700 plus AED 300, plus the leg between the two addresses. Send us both addresses and you will have the total before you book, not after. ACCESS — PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING Apartments and offices need a working lift. A stone bed cannot be carried up a stairwell safely, and we will not attempt it. Roof terraces, basements, and the second or third floor of a villa carry an extra charge. Send us photographs of the access and we will confirm the figure before the day, not on it. WORSTED VERSUS NAPPED, IN PLAIN TERMS A napped cloth has fine raised fibres that grip the ball and slow it, and that grip is directional — the table plays differently up the bed than down it. Worsted cloth has no nap, so the roll is the same in every direction and the same in month twelve as in week one. It also pills far less, which is why worsted tables still look tidy after a season of play. WHEN A TABLE NEEDS RE-CLOTHING • Balls skid or slow unevenly across different areas of the bed • Wear tracks along the break line, around the spots or in front of the pockets • Burns, snags, tears or drink stains • The nap has flattened and the table plays slower than it used to • Colour has faded, usually from sunlight through villa windows HOW OFTEN, REALISTICALLY Light home use: every 5 to 10 years. Regular family use: every 3 to 5 years. Club, café, hotel and office tables: every 1 to 2 years. Air conditioning and humidity change how cloth beds in here, so a heavily used table in the UAE often needs attention sooner than the same table would elsewhere.
